STALK YOUR THOUGHTS
Life sure is a whirlwind these days. It’s easy to let our minds wander until, the next thing you know, you are either defeating yourself or scaring yourself without even knowing how you’ve managed to spiral into negative self-talk. Several times a day I find myself stopping, taking a deep breath and reeling myself back to my heart center because I’ve gotten carried away by my fears and negative thinking. From time to time we forget that we can be our own worst enemy or we can choose to be our very best advocate. Do you have the gift of “self-love gab” or the not so nice gift of those talkative, negative gremlins in your head? You know—the ones that tell you “You’re not pretty enough, thin enough, smart enough….” Well Enough is Enough!
It is best to squash those nasty little buggers as soon as you realize they’ve run amuck inside your head. I find it works wonders to have little Post-Its with friendly reminders all around my home. I even have one on the inside of my medicine cabinet so I can see it while washing my face before bedtime. It reminds me to say aloud “I’m getting more gorgeous every single day!” One of my faves is posted in my studio where I can see it while I am working .
Let’s face it, sometimes we all get on our pity pots and think to ourselves,
So I came up with,
“WHY NOT ME?”
First, are you saying WHY ME like, “Poor me! Why does this happen to me? Why do I always get the short straw? The last pick? Whatever. WHY ME? POOR ME! WAH WAH WAH!” You can flip that to a WHY ME that is EMPOWERING. “Umm, wait a second. Why is this happening to me RIGHT NOW and how do I feel about it? If I don’t like it or like how I feel about it, how can I shift it? Is there a lesson here? Maybe I should take out my magical magnifying glass and take a closer look at exactly WHY ME RIGHT NOW so I can strategize how I am going to handle this as my best ADVOCATE ……. WHY ME? Because I’VE got this. I am the POWER OF ME, that’s WHY ME!”
Are you saying WHY ME like, “Oh, that would never happen to me. I’m not special enough. That’s the stuff that happens to other people. That good stuff doesn’t happen to me.” WHY, that is self-defeating, abusive thinking. WHY NOT ME? In fact, WHY NOT ME RIGHT NOW?
By flipping that simple statement, I truly empower myself.

Why not me having a radio show with amazing listeners?
Why not me having an extraordinary tribe of fantastic people in my Wings Up Meet Up on 12 Academy?
Why not me having amazing gifts?
This little phrase on my hot pink Post-It has shifted so many things for me so many times!
So, what is your “Why Not Me?”
And Why Not jot down your favorite reminder or affirmation and post it where you can see it? And here’s the thing—you’ve got to truly believe it and you also have to truly believe you are worthy of receiving it. If you aren’t there yet, that’s okay too, because there are many wonderful gifted people on 12 Listen like me that are ready, willing and able to help you get there, too.
The thoughts you think have a profound impact, so consider looking closely at your thoughts. Do you have some negative thought patterns to shift? Is the way you are thinking or talking to yourself holding you back? Take any negative thinking and flip it into the positive–however that works for you. Really Stalk Your Thoughts. Make sure your thoughts are in line with your belief systems and what you want to create in your world. If you’re constantly having a go at yourself in your mind, it can block things from coming to you or delay them from coming in right now.
Stalk Your Thoughts. Literally stop every once in a while and peer inside yourself from an outsider’s point of view. Would you like someone to talk to you the way YOU are talking to you? If the answer is no, then shift it or edit it. If you can’t do that on your own, then reach out for help. Asking for help is one of the most empowering and loving things we can do for ourselves.
Happiness is an inside job and it starts with you, even if you’ve got to stalk yourself to get there! After all, you are going to live with you for the rest of your life. Enjoy yourself. Enjoy YOU!
